Letter Writing Campaign a Success

Melissa of Redford, MI held a letter campaign, sending form letters provided by PRF to her friends, family and neighbors. Several people responded with donations. Thank you, Melissa!

Would you like to conduct your own letter-writing campaign? All you need is the names and addresses of 15-20 friends, neighbors and family members, a pen and about an hour of your time. PRF will supply all the letters, envelopes and brochures. It's easy, fun and a great way to get involved in PRF's fundraising efforts!

All In the Family - Computer Donation

It started out with Mark Larma from Concord, NC e-mailing PRF that he had a computer he wanted to donate to a child with Progeria. After learning that the child's family could not afford a computer, and the child has always wanted one, Mark also decided to donate the monthly Internet access costs. His dad, who lives in Omaha, NE and brother (from Kansas City, MO) then got swept up in the Donation and helped with shipping costs. His dad also donated a printer, and his brother donated a monitor that allowed Mark to give the child a better one than Mark originally had. All kinds of upgrades were added as time went on. Now Mark's wife wants to help out as well, and has asked for information on volunteering opportunities. It was so exciting, over the course of just a few short weeks, Mark and his family got more and more committed to this Donation and to PRF. They spent a lot of time on the set up of the whole system, and we -- as well as the lucky recipient of this computer system- are very grateful.

Temple Sholom Donates proceeds of Holiday Events to PRF

The children and parents of Temple Sholom of New Milford, CT have demonstrated continuing support for PRF through their generous donations. In December 1999, we were the lucky recipients of proceeds from their holiday "Maccabean Games" where "young adults and their parents created activities that tested both the brain and brawn of the children". And again in March 2001, the congregation came together to enjoy Purim, a holiday filled with merry-making, laughter and games, including a Purim Carnival. All monies raised at the carnival were donated to PRF. "In the Purim tradition of gifts to worthy organizations", they write, "we proudly donate this money to PRF. It is our hope that the monies we have raised will aid in your efforts to find a cure". Thank you, Temple Sholom, they will!

ABC Supply Company Raises $1,335.00 For PRF

ABC Supply Company, Inc. of Berlin, CT chose The Progeria Research Foundation, Inc. to be this year's recipient of all proceeds from their annual charity golf tournament, held in September of this year. All participants in the tournament donate $10 and golf at The Southington Country Club, followed by a banquet dinner at The Manor Inn in Milldale. 99 Men and women attended the event. Event coordinators were Al Stewart, sales manager, and Mike Anderson, branch manager, business associates of PRF Board member and Treasurer Rich Reed. Thank you, Al, Mike, everyone at ABC Supply and everyone that participated in the tournament. $1,335 was raised, and will go a long way toward reaching our goals!
