Lendita Drenica, Vice President of the DeWitt Clinton High School's Key Club in the Bronx, NY and her fellow club members took on the task of educating themselves about Progeria in order to spread the word about the disease to the entire student body. The Key Club members placed newsletters and Coins to Cure cans throughout the school and spoke to their classmates about Progeria. "We hung up a lot of the brochures around the school and kids actually stopped to read them" stated Lendita, "it was amazing because going to a school with over 5,000 kids no one would stop in the middle of the hall to read what is up, but they did!". We are honored that the Dewitt Clinton High School Key Club chose The Progeria Research Foundation as its school project. The awareness and money (over $300!!) raised by this inspiring group of young people will have a lasting impact on the lives of children with Progeria.
